AUGUST 2016 SELECTION : LITTLE HARBINGER (and Burrata)

The Basics:

We are so fortunate that we found out about Tucker Family Farm! A friend in cheese, right here in Portland happens to be related to one of the owners. She reached out a few months back to ask myself and a handful of my local cheese colleagues to taste the cheeses and provide feedback. My feedback on Little Harbinger was basically this: HOW SOON CAN I GET THIS FOR MY CHEESE CLUB.

The story of Tucker Family Farm is the "classic" young couple enticed by time spent on farms have their eyes opened to another way of living- a sustainable, vibrant family farm that puts food on their own table in addition to others in the community. I'm thrilled to support what they're doing and to talk about the rise of sheep dairying too!

As promised, we're offering burrata as an add-on this month. I've created a number of categories to allow you to order one or two pieces of burrata. Note that these are smaller burrata than what we've had for cheese club, each piece is 4 ounces and costs $9.

Pick up Party: Thursday, August 18th. 6:30pm at Cyril's.

Levels of Membership available this month:

Just Trying it on ($10): Come to the pick up party (Thursday, August 18th at 6:30pm), taste and learn about the cheese and see if our cheese club is something you want to try next month. Supporting the Cyril's cheese club at this level also earns you a vote for future cheese we will feature.

One Pound, No Party ($32): This level of membership gets you one pound of Little Harbinger- an aged sheep's milk cheese similar in texture to a young manchego. If you want to come to the pick up party (Thursday, August 18th at 6:30pm) please see "One pound, one person" or "One pound, two people".

One Pound, No Party + 4 oz Burrata ($41): This level of membership gets you one pound of Little Harbinger- an aged sheep's milk cheese similar in texture to a young manchego plus one 4oz piece of Burrata! If you want to come to the pick up party (Thursday, August 18th at 6:30pm) please see "One pound, one person" or "One pound, two people".

One Pound, One Person ($37): This level of membership gets you one pound of Little Harbinger- an aged sheep's milk cheese similar in texture to a young manchego. This level of membership includes an invitation for one to join us at the pick up party (Thursday, August 18th at 6:30pm) where you can learn about the cheese, taste, and experience pairings.
